Structure 53 of the Poetic Message: The Inversion , 2012
“Structure 53 of the Poetic Message: The Inversion” contemplates Paolini’s works that explore the reflection on codes and conventions of seeing, on the statute of the work and on art as a linguistic structure that speaks about itself. In this piece the common pedestal is rendered as a fragile structure, disfigured by some event and constructed as a mere skin of its potential strength and purpose: to hold and display the art that sits atop. When the construction of this common object is abstracted we can then see it as an object rather than for its applied use: as a vehicle to see something else.
