Will our earthly existence be just a filament of waste in the archeological strata? We are continually looking to the past to understand who we are, unearthing and collecting objects to fill in the stories of our history. This makes the poignant placement of Tesauro’s Fessure in the Stand4 Gallery space an appropriate marker to the end of the exhibition. Placed between two walls, the ¨fissure¨, to find a ceramic sculpture reminiscent of an ancient Egyptian scarab, a beetle that lays its eggs in its excrement and is associated with the divine manifestation of the early morning sun. Like the scarab we are in a continual state of creation, but unlike the scarab, the waste of our commercial, consumptive ways, is not life giving.

A project which is part of Chance Ecologies (www.chancecologies.org). There are 8 small-scale installations throughout the site. I led 2 walking tours through the site and stopped at these 8 spots to talk about the past, present and future of the site and to give the viewers a chance to reflect on this, along with the landscape and my site-specific installations that are based on the elements of construction/destruction that serve as the foundation for the evolution of this specific site from an organic sprawl into a controlled environment.

Artist Book that combines my drawings of the objects I collected with my photgraphs from the Hunter’s Point South site in Queens, NY before it was leveled, acting as an archeological handbook and archive of the material debris.

Original sculptures made from clay, silicone skins were made from these originals and cast in a cellulose and plaster mix with added pigment.

Installed in a 12th Century structure that was once used for pressing the olives into oil. The installation is based on one of the abandoned houses in the village of Monasterace(CA), Italy.

Repurposed plastic netting used for harvesting olives and thread dimensions variable.

This site-specific Installation delineates the outer parameter of the large industrial, interior space. I was interested in playing off of some of the existing architectural components; utilizing a water spout as its starting point. The strand follows the line where the floor meets the wall for 82 feet/25 meters and ends in an existing hole that leads to the space below that was also visible in the ceiling if you were in the space on the floor below.
